Another sunny, mild day with temps in the 70s and 3-4 foot seas...How cool is that?!
We learned some interesting facts today when the captain gave his daily update..The Atlantic Ocean is the second largest ocean covering 41.1 million miles of the Earth's surface. It is named after the Greek god, Atlas. Beneath the Atlantic lies a mountain range called the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. It is about 990 miles wide. Several peaks rise above the water and they are the islands of Bermuda and the Azores.
After breakfast, we walked about the ship getting a glimpse of the daily activities aboard and taking some pictures to share. Then we relaxed by the aft pool, had lunch and a brief nap. We then went to the movies to see Old Dogs starring John Travolta and Robin Williams. We enjoyed it.
Tonight was formal night and we sat at a table for 8. One of the couples we recognized from our South Pacific cruise as we had dinner with them on that cruise also. We also met other people from the same cruise yesterday, but we never met until last night.
After dinner we went to see a comedian magician. He was ok, but we have seen much better.
Now for the pictures.......things to do at sea....
Pour champagne into the tower of glasses
Take a nap :)
Visit the library or internet cafe
Visit the art gallery
Shop sales :)
Vegetable carving
All of that is on a ship??? The shops, and the library, and the art museum? How cool!! I've never been on a cruise. I didn't know they had that kind of stuff too. I thought just swimming pools and lawn chairs, and food. haha
ReplyDeleteSee dadski, I told you not to get too tired. I see you sleeping on that lawn chair.:-)
momski, I sure like your relax picture. Pretty toes and all polished. I miss you too. I hope you enjoy the whole trip. The part about the mountain range being below the Atlantic is kind of freaky. :-0
